Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret group.
The adventure centers on "strange trials and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
